Johnny & I have been playing together as a duo since the summer of 2004. We met when we helped form the band "Drive" in the spring of 2001 with bassist David Enke & multiple instrumentalist Don Richmond.
Common interests in acoustic music & great vocals led us to combine our talents into the duo "Munch & Watson." Being composed of acoustic guitar, hand drum, & vocals, our music is characteristically rhythm-based with melodic influences like Nat King Cole, Wilson Pickett, & James Taylor.
Our sound has been described as soulful, acoustic, folksy and hard-driving. We sometimes improvise on a percussive progression in the middle of a song & segue into a whole 'nother feeling, especially when there are dancers in the audience. We definitely have our own style & hold the crowd in the palm of our hand on a good night. |
